Scott has worked late this week, which means that he does not have to be in to work until 12:45 pm So for this week we have went to the mall before the stores open at 10 to get our walking in. There is a group of 5 moms who power walk/jog there. Also there are a lot of older ladies and couples that get there coffee at the little coffee shop in the mall and then walk around. I never knew people did this but it is a smart way to have somewhere to walk that is not so dang hot. I love Arizona, but when trying to get in shape it is hard to get your walk on when it is 100+ outside. I think I will remember this for next year during the summer. The picture was found online but is mostly what you see while walking through the mall in the AM.
I have been wearing a pedometer and my goal is 10,000 steps a day, which is sometimes hard for a stay at home mom. My Aunt started the whole thing when she was visiting and my mom got one and I thought it was such a great idea. Then Scott's work gave one to everyone and they are having some sort of challenge to see who gets the most steps. Scott had bought a cheap one awhile back and while it was just sitting there in the teacup planter that I use for things I don't know where else to put, I decided to put it on. It is only 4 o'clock and I am currently at 11,565 steps. Not to bad and if I can keep eating healthy I hope to see an improvement in my attitude, energy, and waistline.

I've done the mall/walking. We're hoping to get a group here going. I need to do something, not because of my weight, but because I a depressed and I know I will feel better if I start walking.
Then again, we could do an evening family walk because it is beautiful here at dusk.
good for you. People have been doing laps in the malls for years - it's a wonderful place to walk in AZ. especially if you can find some stairs and walk up and down. Just KEEP WALKING. love ya.
